New Medical Plaza Brings The Latest In Outpatient Services To Memorial Hermann Katy
Katy, Texas, June 2, 2006 – The new Medical Plaza on the campus of the future Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital brings state-of-the-art diagnostic technology and outpatient services to the community. This conveniently located facility is designed to maximize patient comfort and minimize stress by delivering outstanding service in a soothing environment.
“By combining the latest healthcare advances, the very best customer service and a calming atmosphere, we hope to provide a different kind of experience for our patients,” said Scott Barbe, CEO of Memorial Hermann Katy.
The 125,000-sq.-ft. Medical Plaza is located at Interstate 10 and the Grand Parkway adjacent to the future Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital that will open in December. It features Memorial Hermann Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation and a Continence Center as well as outpatient imaging and surgical facilities.
The Memorial Hermann Imaging Center offers a full range of imaging technologies, including mammography, X-ray, bone-density testing and ultrasound.
“This new imaging outpatient center offers convenience for both patients and physicians,” said Steve Dinwiddie, director of imaging at Memorial Hermann Katy. “Patients benefit from the availability of advanced diagnostic services near where they live and work, and physicians receive reports and images within 10 hours after the exam. We also contract with most health insurance companies in the area which are listed on our Web site at www.memorialhermann.org under For Patients/Insurance Affiliates.”
The Memorial Hermann Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation Center includes a full-service physical therapy program including speech and occupational therapy. It will feature a SwimEx Aquatic Therapy Pool, which enables upper- and lower-body treatment with underwater observation cameras, adjustable water flow and multidepth capabilities. Enhanced sports medicine therapies will be provided for athletes of all abilities and ages.
The Continence Center provides comprehensive care for problems of the lower urinary tract and pelvic floor. Services include urodynamic testing and pelvic floor rehabilitation in addition to clinical support and education for incontinence.
Walk-in patients will be welcome in the convenient outpatient testing laboratory located in Suite 112, which will provide physicians with prompt report turnaround time.
The Medical Plaza also includes an outpatient surgery center that offers a broad array of outpatient procedures for patients that don’t require an overnight stay. The surgery center will be located on the second floor of the Medical Plaza, and it will open in the fall.
