Memorial Hermann Hospital Maintains Top Status for Trauma Care

Houston, Texas, June 3, 2003 -- The American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma Verification/Consultation Program for Hospitals has reverified Memorial Hermann Hospital as a Level I trauma center. The designation followed a committee review of the hospital on March 30-31.

"The survey team commended our performance, quality improvement and Life Flight programs," said Juanita Romans, Memorial Hermann Hospital CEO. "Memorial Hermann Hospital is committed to providing quality trauma care to the citizens of greater Houston and beyond."

Memorial Hermann Hospital, located in the Texas Medical Center, is among only two certified Level I trauma centers in Greater Houston, providing 24-hour emergency and trauma care to more than 40,000 patients a year.
