Memorial Hermann|TIRR Moves Up to Number 4 Among Rehabilitation Hospitals in the
U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals Rankings
Houston, July 13, 2007 – For the 18th consecutive year, Memorial Hermann|TIRR ranks among America’s Best Hospitals in the U.S. News & World Report magazine’s annual survey of health care institutions, moving from number 5 to number 4 nationally.
From 1990 to the present, U.S. News & World Report has conducted an annual assessment of the quality of U.S. hospitals in the form of lists collectively titled “America’s Best Hospitals. Rankings are obtained through a nationwide survey of board certified physicians, with the results published in the July 16, 2007 issue.
“Memorial Hermann|TIRR has internationally known medical experts whose research and expertise in treating catastrophic injuries have produced treatment protocols that have influenced the standard of care throughout the medical industry nationwide,” said Carl Josehart, Memorial Hermann|TIRR chief executive officer. "We are honored to once again be listed among the nation’s leading rehabilitation hospitals."
Located in the world- renowned Texas Medical Center, Memorial Hermann|TIRR provides medical rehabilitation for individuals who have suffered catastrophic injury or illness such as brain injury, spinal cord injury or multiple traumas.

One of 14 hospitals in the Memorial Hermann system, the 116-bed rehabilitation hospital also has associated outpatient programs in the community that include Memorial Hermann|TIRR Challenge Program, a community re-entry program for brain injury survivors, and Memorial Hermann|TIRR Outpatient Therapy Services.
