New Health
Care Facility Announced for Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital The Woodlands,
July 17, 2003 -- Design has begun for a third medical office
building to be located on the growing Memorial
Hermann The Woodlands Hospital campus. Hospital officials released the architect’s
rendering for Professional Office Building III today and estimate
they will break ground in mid 2004.
The announcement
signals Memorial Hermann The Woodlands’ continued
response to the increasing need for quality health care. In addition
to providing more office space, the new facility will address a specific
need for more outpatient services that would be located in the new
medical office building.
Hospital CEO Steve
Sanders remarks, “Both of our current medical
office buildings are 100 percent occupied, yet we see the physician
and outpatient services demand continue to grow. As the health care
leader in our service area, Memorial Hermann The Woodlands will always
step up and answer those demands…just as we’ve already
responded with two major expansions on our campus.”
A 40-million dollar project was completed in 1999, and February 2003
saw the realization of a 78-million dollar expansion.
While officials refine plans which will specify the size and exact
location for the new building, they expect construction to be finished
in 2005.
Sanders asserts
that the new design will compliment the feel of the current campus
and will
be easy for patients and tenants to access.
Also, in keeping with Memorial Hermann The Woodlands’ commitment
to its whole life health care philosophy, the new building will be
environmentally friendly as well as energy efficient.
