Former NFL Offensive Lineman Joins the Medical Staff at the Roger Clemens Institute at Memorial Hermann
Houston, Texas, August 4, 2006 – Memorial Hermann today announced Mark Adickes, M.D., as the newest member of the medical staff at the Roger Clemens Institute at Memorial Hermann.
In announcing the newest addition to the medical team, Medical Director Tom Clanton, M.D., noted Adickes’ breadth and depth of experience. “As a clinician and former professional athlete, Dr. Adickes is a valuable addition to the Roger Clemens Institute. His extensive knowledge and expertise in sports medicine will further enhance the care we provide to our patients.”
Dr. Adickes comes to Memorial Hermann from Steadman-Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colo., where he completed his sports medicine fellowship under the tutelage of Dr. Richard Steadman. Prior to Steadman-Hawkins, Adickes completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. He earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in Boston, Mass.
Dr. Adickes' career in medicine follows a remarkable decade-long career in the National Football League, including a 1991 Super Bowl Championship with the Washington Redskins. An alumnus of Baylor University, Dr. Adickes was also inducted into the Baylor Sports Hall of Fame in 1998.
