In addition to leading the 178-bed Children’s Memorial Hermann and the 68-bed women’s services program at the Texas Medical Center campus, Cordola will oversee standardization of high-quality pediatric care at other hospitals within the Memorial Hermann system. For families in some communities, this will mean more convenient access to subspecialists in neonatology, neurology, pulmonology and gastroenterology.
"This is an exciting time to be at Children’s Memorial Hermann,” Cordola said. “As the hospital celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, we are planning a number of initiatives to enhance the quality of healthcare provided to Houston’s youngest patients."
Cordola joined Memorial Hermann-TMC and Children’s Memorial Hermann in 2003 as assistant vice president of operations, overseeing children’s, women’s, nutrition, volunteer, environmental and chaplaincy services. Previously, he worked as regional operations director for Texas Children’s Pediatric Associates and Texas Children’s Hospital and after serving in management capacities for other healthcare organizations. Cordola is an adjunct faculty member of the University of Houston Clear Lake Healthcare Administration Program and a board member of the university’s alumni association. He holds master’s degrees in business and healthcare administration from the University of Houston at Clear Lake and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. He serves on the advisory board of Ronald McDonald House and is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare.
