One-Stop, Diagnostic and Women's Services in New Outpatient Center
Houston,
Texas, October 13, 2003 – Three months after opening a new
patient tower, Memorial Hermann Northwest
Hospital introduces a facility
dedicated exclusively to outpatient care. The 13,000-square-foot Outpatient
Testing Center offers extensive diagnostic
and women’s services,
including mammography, bone densitometry and three-dimensional cardiac
ultrasonography (ECHO).
Additional services include a vascular lab; diagnostic radiology;
echocardiography, which is a painless, noninvasive procedure for viewing
the heart; electrocardiography
(EKG) to identify abnormalities in heart function; electroencephalography
(EEG), the medical standard for detection and recording of brain waves;
and electromyography (EMG) for diagnosis of neuromuscular disorders.
Located
on the second floor of the hospital’s South Tower, the
center features a spacious waiting room with four private registration
booths. To increase workflow efficiency, the new space includes a consultation
room, five pre-admission testing rooms and one pulmonary function room.
Within the women’s services area are three rooms dedicated to
mammography, a fourth set aside for bone density testing and two ultrasound
rooms.
“Diagnosing a health problem quickly and accurately is the first
step toward recovery,” said Keith Parrott, Memorial Hermann Northwest
Hospital CEO. “Our Outpatient Testing Center offers the convenience
of scheduling multiple tests at one location. A number of services
can be accessed even without an appointment, and results are readily
available to your doctor,” he said.
Memorial Hermann Northwest
Hospital is located at 1635 North Loop West at Ella Boulevard. To
