Hermann The Woodlands Hospital Expands Surgical ICU The
Woodlands,
Texas, December 10, 2004 -- Memorial
Hermann The Woodlands Hospital has doubled the size of
its intensive care unit (ICU), with the addition of a new surgical
ICU wing incorporating the latest technologies in the treatment
of surgical patients.
The new 12-bed
unit specializes in caring for those who have undergone neurological,
cardiovascular and
thoracic surgeries. As in the hospital’s existing intensive
care unit, beds in the new wing are monitored through the Memorial Hermann eICU® Advantage,
an innovative system to support on-site care with 24-hour remote monitoring.
“This new unit provides members of our community with leading-edge technology
when they need it most,” said Dr. William Parks, chief medical officer
for Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital. “We’ve carefully selected
the best equipment available to aid in the treatment and monitoring of post-surgical
patients, particularly those who undergo brain and heart procedures.”
