The Woodlands, Texas, December 17, 2004 – Reflecting its commitment to top-quality clinical care, Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital has named Williams Parks, M.D., its first chief medical officer (CMO).

Dr. Parks, a respected local pediatrician who presently holds the position of chairman of the bylaws committee, will assume his new duties in early January. His previous roles at the hospital have included president of the medical staff and chairman of the pediatrics department.

“We are excited to have a long-time physician partner step into this vital role,” said Steve Sanders, CEO of Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital.

“Dr. Parks will be a member of our senior management team and will play an integral role within Memorial Hermann Health Network Providers.”

As CMO, Dr. Parks will oversee several key hospital functions including care management, medical records, peer review, risk management, office of medical staff and infection control. He is a graduate of the University of Florida Medical School, and served his residency with the University of Texas Health Science Center and Memorial Hermann Children’s Hospital.
