Be Fit Challenge Targets Children's Health Initiatives

The Houston Rockets and Memorial Hermann teamed up to reward children who made nutritious eating and regular exercise a daily habit – and encourage parents to become involved in their children’s healthy lifestyles. They invited nearly 665 schools to participate in the Be Fit Challenge.

On May 9, the Rockets and Memorial Hermann awarded Almeda Elementary with an exciting and informative rally and clinic for having more than 100 students make a Be Fit Challenge Bingo. To participate, students completed five fun and educational fitness and nutrition activities in a row on the Be Fit Bingo scorecard.

At the rally, students learned about the dangers of using drugs from the Houston Rockets mascot, Clutch, good nutrition from Memorial Hermann, dance skills from the Rockets Power Dancers, shooting and ball handling skills and received a special surprise visit from Life Flight and the Children’s Memorial Hermann mascot, Topper.
