Free Heart Screenings For Athletes
When sudden cardiac death occurs in a young person, it is often associated with physical activity or sports. Most sudden deaths in children and adolescents are caused by underlying congenital cardiac abnormalities.
Heart Screening includes: An electrocardiogram (EKG) EKG tests the electrical activity of the heart. No physician referral is required to schedule this screening. Cardiopulmonary Services from Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital will perform the screenings, in conjunction with affiliated physicians.
All qualified Humble, New Caney, Sheldon, Galena Park or Splendora ISD middle and high school athletes are eligible.
