What is Physical Therapy?
The goal of physical therapy is to reduce pain, improve mobility, and restore your body’s functional abilities, without medication or surgery. Our therapists will evaluate your needs and create a comprehensive plan. We use evidence-based treatments and therapies to improve strength and mobility, to help your body function to its fullest potential. In many cases, physical therapy can help you avoid surgery.
How Does Physical Therapy Work
Physical therapy with Memorial Hermann starts with a comprehensive initial evaluation, including a discussion of your current condition and specific health goals. Your therapist will determine if physical therapy is the right option for you. Next, your therapist will develop a plan of care to find the relief you need. Your plan will include a combination of in-clinic sessions and at-home exercises to maintain progress.
