Scrape, Tape & Move: Foundation to Function Certification Course

Hosted by: Memorial Hermann Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation

The heath care professions need to have an efficient tool set to maximize their patient care both during their time in clinic and supplemental home exercise. This course teaches healthcare professionals how to use the SFMA and other movement related findings to guide their interventions – from techniques to restore mobility to reprogramming motor control dysfunctions. This systematic approach will help clinicians to be more efficient and effective while treating movement related dysfunctions. The goal of the Scrape, Tape, and Move: Foundation to Function course is to include cutting edge tools, techniques, and methods that drastically increase the efficiency of the therapist time, while at the same time maintaining the highest level of patient care. Currently, we incorporate certifications in IASTM and Kinesiology/Biomechanical Dynamic Taping. In addition to mobility resets and taping reinforcements, motor reprogramming strategies will be emphasized based upon the neurodevelopmental perspective. Specific rehabilitative strategies and exercise techniques will serve to help guide motor control programming.
