Physician Biography
Dr. Mahan received his undergraduate degree at The University of Texas at Arlington and earned his medical degree at Texas Tech School of Medicine in Lubbock, Texas, where he was named the outstanding student of the year in obstetrics and gynecology. While serving in the U.S. Army, Dr. Mahan completed his internship training in obstetrics and gynecology at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, and residency training at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Mahan currently serves as the chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital and specializes in laparoscopic surgery, minimally invasive procedures, high risk obstetrics, incontinence, and hormonal care for pre and post menopausal patients. Dr. Mahan sees patients 13 years and older and believes in a patient-centered practice. His staff is fluent in Spanish.
Dr. Mahan is in the Army Reserves and in his leisure time enjoys time with his family, golf, tennis and working out. He is active in his church with his wife and 3 children. He feels that patients respond best when their entire health concerns are explored and attended to. He is always ready to listen and provide answers.
