Dr. Theodoros Voloyiannis

Physician Biography

Born in Thessaloniki, Greece, Dr. Voloyiannis earned his medical degree at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Medical School and completed his Surgical Residency at Baylor College of Medicine, M.E. DeBakey Department of Surgery in Houston. Dr. Voloyiannis completed his fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) Medical School. He is Diplomate of both American Board of Surgery and American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. He is also Fellow of American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Voloyiannis’s main focus involves surgical and non-surgical colon and rectal procedures. He has a strong interest in the latest advances and performs minimally invasive laparoscopic surgeries, colonoscopies and hemorrhoid procedures. He spends much of his time listening to his patients, in the office or hospital, because he believes not only in treating complex conditions, but helping patients return to normal lives as soon as possible. His office staff is fluent in Spanish.

Before joining Memorial Hermann Medical Group in 2011, he was affiliated with the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System for four years. He currently serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the UTHealth Medical School, as well as Chairman of Surgery at Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital. Dr. Voloyiannis enjoys traveling to the Mediterranean countries especially Greece, where he still has family.
