Inpatient Memorial Hermann RehabAn individualized rehabilitation program is developed to promote independence and safety so the patient can return to a productive and fulfilling life.

Admission to an impatient rehabilitation program requires the ability to participate in therapy, nursing care and physician support. We welcome self-referrals as well as referrals from family members, case managers, insurance companies and healthcare professionals following one of these injuries or illnesses:


  • Stroke
  • Neurological disorders such as Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis and Guillain-Barré
  • General rehabilitation
  • Neurodegenerative diseases
  • Cancer rehabilitation
  • Non-traumatic brain injury
  • Orthopedic conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, fractures or complicated joint replacements
  • Amputation
  • Medical trauma
  • Spinal surgery with neurological impairment
  • Debilitation
  • Rehabilitation for transplant patients

Inpatient Rehabilitation Team

The inpatient rehabilitation team consists of:

  • The patient and their family/friends
  • Affiliated physicians
  • 24-hour nursing services
  • Physical therapists
  • Occupational therapists
  • Speech and language pathologists
  • Neuropsychologists
  • Licensed clinical social workers
  • Nurse case managers
  • Respiratory therapists
  • Clinical dietitians
  • Pharmacists
  • Chaplains

These teams meet frequently to discuss the patient’s progress towards goals.
