Weatherhead PET Center
The
Weatherhead PET Center combines the latest scientific technology with
personalized care to help prevent and reverse coronary heart disease.
Using
Positron Emission Tomography (PET), the center can diagnose heart conditions non-invasively
with 96 to 98 percent accuracy – regardless
of whether the individual has symptoms. This allows for treatment as
much as 10 to 15 years before a heart
attack occurs, significantly
reducing the
risk of death from blocked
arteries.
Our specialists at the Weatherhead Center are pioneers in efforts to reverse
or stop the progression of heart
disease. They use a comprehensive medical
approach that includes diet, cholesterol-reducing drugs, and programs to
reduce or eliminate risk factors.
This not only decreases the chance of heart-related sudden death, but lessens
the need for bypass
surgery and balloon dilation as well. However, if these
procedures are eventually necessary, the regimen can also improve outcomes.
