Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care
Memorial Hermann chaplains care for the spiritual wellbeing of patients,
families, staff and members of the hospital community. Our mission
is to hold sacred the care of the soul.
We care for patients and families facing life-changing illness and
adjustment, as well as those making end-of-life decisions. If you are
separated from loved ones, anxious or feel the need for pastoral care,
religious and spiritual support while at the hospital, take time to
meet with our chaplains.
Partnering with
the patient care team, we provide care through support, presence,
comfort, religious worship, spiritual resources and pastoral counseling.
Chaplains are available at all major health care facilities throughout
our system.
Our Clinical
Pastoral Education program, accredited by the Association
of Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc. equips clergy, seminarians and
lay people with knowledge and skills to provide spiritual care. It
also provides the training required to become a Board-Certified Chaplain
with the Association of Professional Chaplains.
