Case Management
From the moment of injury to back-to-work to a closed case, WorkLink is involved with you, your employee and the provider. Communication is the key to effective case management.

We ensure that your employees get appropriate care about which they can feel confident. As the employer, you will be kept up to date on the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment plan, and your modified duty options will be used in each case.

WorkLink's clinical case management services reduce lost work time and medical costs by:

  • Returning the employee to full or modified duty as soon as medically appropriate
  • Minimizing legal complications and providing case documentation
  • Monitoring injured employee's medical treatment plan. Nurse case managers follow an individual patient's injury and case to ensure that proper treatments and physician care are being received. This process strengthens communication among employer, injured worker and provider and usually results in the employee returning to work sooner and with an improved outcome, which saves money.
  • Monitoring utilization. Our staff carefully monitors treatment patterns for appropriateness, helping ensure that utilization thresholds are maintained.
  • Review of medical records, conducted by our panel of expert physicians, to determine if treatment is appropriate. Sometimes the review is used to determine whether the injury could have been a pre-existing condition, whether it’s related to the work injury, or to recommend an alternative treatment plan that may be more effective.

Certified Worker's Compensation Network
MHealth WorkLink offers a certified worker's compensation network for the Houston metropolitan area.

Claim Services and Processing
WorkLink takes a unique approach to managing claims. Our integrated system combines all the claim activity into one easy-to-access program that enhances communication among key staff, which helps save you money.

Many studies have shown one of the biggest cost drivers in occupational claims to be over-utilization of medical resources. WorkLink not only manages the financial aspects of the claim, but integrates the medical management component within one system.

WorkLink also provides real-time access to our claims system. You can have up-to-the-minute status available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Valuable tools help reduce the cost of work-related claims:

  • Medical bill review – Examines provider bills to determine reasonable and appropriate charges have been billed to the client
  • PPO Network – An experienced network of physicians, specialists, hospitals and ancillary care facilities tailored to fit your needs
  • Injury tracking and outcomes analysis – Reporting systems within WorkLink identify trends and patterns related to injuries and providers
  • Pharmacy Program – Arrangements with over 10,000 pharmacies to track and manage your prescription needs, as well as offer competitive pricing

Occupational Injury Provider Network for Non-Subscribers
We will customize a network of providers for empoyers who are non-subscribers to worker's compensation, contracted through WorkLink, specific to your occupational health needs, your locations and work schedules. Each site will have access to primary care physicians who will get to know you, your company and your employees.

Employees benefit by receiving quality treatment quickly and conveniently. Employers benefit by utilizing a network of physicians experienced in successfully treating employees with occupational injuries and returning them to work.

On-site Services
Since many employers prefer to provide onsite medical services, WorkLink partners with local healthcare providers to deliver occupational health services to your company.

The need for onsite medical services is usually determined by the nature of the company's business and potential health hazards in the workplace. Onsite clinic management also benefits employers who are required by federal regulations to annually screen employees. If your company has a large number of employees requiring medical testing and exams, it's usually more cost-effective to have onsite services, including:

  • Board-certified occupational medicine physicians
  • Medical review officer services to meet federal and state requirements
  • Regulatory compliance and medical surveillance and testing programs
  • Travel medicine services
  • Health risk assessments
  • Onsite wellness programs
  • Workers compensation, disability and absence management programs
  • Occupational health news

Our onsite clinics are flexible to meet the needs of your workplace. From a simple first aid station to a fully staffed facility, WorkLink can assist you in efficiently and cost-effectively building your onsite occupational health program.

Wellness Services
WorkLink provides a host of wellness services and products at employer locations, often to coincide with health fairs or other employee health initiatives.

Screening and wellness services may include:

  • Health risk assessments (HRAs) – A comprehensive, cost-effective approach to identifying health risks both for the employee and the company
  • A variety of health screening options to help you keep your employees healthy
  • Online wellness tools
  • Onsite programs tailored to your company’s needs
  • Educational presentations for employees and employers, including Memorial Hermann Speakers Bureau programs
