Most lung cancers are not found until after clinical symptoms have become apparent. These clinical symptoms are indicators of advanced disease, which can be difficult to treat. Memorial Hermann Southwest has established a Lung Cancer Screening Program based on The National Comprehensive Care Network (NCCN) Guidelines aimed at detecting lung cancer sooner in individuals at high risk for lung cancer. When lung cancer is detected earlier, it has a greater chance of being treated and cured.
Individuals who are interested in a lung screening may talk with their primary care physician or call the Memorial Hermann SouthwestCancer Services Line at (713) 456-4028.
