Dr. Kareen Smith, MD

Dr. Kareen J. Smith earned her medical degree from The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Camden, N.J. She then completed her residency training in Pediatric Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.

Board certified in pediatrics, Dr. Smith has practiced medicine in Houston since 2009. She treats patients from newborn to age 20 years. Her clinical interests include preventive health care, neurodevelopmental disorders and complex medical problems.

Also fluent in Spanish, Dr. Smith believes that spending time with patients and their parents, helps to strengthen the bond between patient, parent and physician. This ultimately results in successful diagnoses and treatment plans. Through building these relationships, she is better able to educate families regarding preventive medicine and treatment options. Her people-first approach is the cornerstone of her practice.

She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a member of the Texas Medical Association and the Fort Bend Medical Society.

Residents of Missouri City, Dr. Smith and her husband have four children. Her hobbies include dancing, traveling, cooking, photography and music, but most of all she enjoys spending time with her family.
