Dr. Mark Gilbert, MD

Cardiologist Dr. Mark Gilbert is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. A native of Mexico City, his fluent Spanish allows him to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking patients. He also speaks Hebrew.

Dr. Gilbert earned his medical degree at the Universidad Anahuac School of Medicine in Mexico City. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Using both medical, invasive and non-invasive methods, he treats patients for a variety of symptoms including chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations and dizziness, any of which can indicate coronary heart disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmia, ischemic heart disease, valvular heart disease or hypertension.

Dr. Gilbert has been elected a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

Dr. Gilbert sees himself as a teacher. He likes to provide explanations that help his patients fully understand what is needed to improve their health or prevent conditions from becoming serious. He thinks of his patients as family and approaches each as if he were treating a parent, brother or sister. For him, the most satisfying part of practicing cardiology is seeing patients get better, feel healthier and recover from the symptoms, like shortness of breath or chest pain, that they had been experiencing.
