Dr. Michael J. Snyder earned his medical degree at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, and completed his general surgery internship and residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii.  He completed his fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in Houston following deployment to Turkey to head a medical clinic and service in the US Army during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

Board certified in surgery and colon and rectal surgery, Dr. Snyder has practiced medicine in Houston since 1997 and treats patients 18 years and older.  His clinical interests include colon and rectal cancer, stool incontinence, anal fistula, hemorrhoids, inflammatory bowel disease and intestinal endometriosis.

Dr. Snyder believes in treating his patients with care and compassion. He uses the most up-to-date technology and spends the time needed with each patient to ensure that they are comfortable and understand their condition.

A member of a several medical societies, Dr. Snyder is currently president of the Texas Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. He has written a number of medical articles and made numerous scientific presentations.
