Dr. Dhiekson Silva, MD

Board certified by the American Board of Family of Medicine, Dhiekson Silva, MD., received his undergraduate degree from Sam Houston State University and his medical degree from Central America Health Sciences University in Belize. He completed his internship and residency from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso where he served as Chief Resident during his last year of training.

Dr. Silva was drawn to health care early in his childhood. His inquisitive nature, passion for science and helping others, made a career in medicine a natural fit. Dr. Silva provides highly personalized care for patients of all ages and his special interests include preventive medicine, dermatology and sports medicine.

Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, Dr. Silva sees patients for acute episodic care, annual wellness exams, well-child visits and treatment of chronic diseases like hypertension and diabetes.

Dr. Silva’s patient-care philosophy is focused on making the patient his number one priority. He feels it is important to listen to all of his patient’s concerns and collaborate on a treatment plan that will deliver optimal health results. Compassionate and easy-going, enjoys working as a team with his patients, establishing continuity and focusing on preventive care.

Dr. Silva has been recipient of several awards including the prestigious Gold Humanism Honor Society for clinical excellence and The Society of Teachers of Family Medicine for his dedication to teaching medical students. He is a member of the American Board of Family Medicine, The American Academy of Family Physicians, The Texas Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Silva’s hobbies include exercising, playing video games, reading and singing.
