Dr. Samuel Wang, MD

Dr. Wang received his undergraduate degree from Rice University and his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He completed his family practice residency at St. Elizabeth Family Practice in Edgewood, Kentucky.  Dr. Wang is board-certified in family medicine.

Dr. Wang treats the full range of chronic and acute conditions for patients of all ages. He especially enjoys treating adolescents and athletes and has a clinical interest in diabetes. He emphasizes the importance of living a healthy lifestyle though proper eating and exercise.

Dr. Wang acknowledges that doctors have to wear many hats. He sees himself as a medical expert, teacher and mentor. He knows his patients count on him to provide an expert clinical opinion, but he also takes the time to explain the information, making sure they understand what’s going on with their individual condition and how to make healthy choices. Thorough and caring, Dr. Wang takes as much time as necessary with his patients, encouraging them to ask questions and voice their opinions.

Dr. Wang also enjoys teaching new residents.  In additional to treating patients, he serves as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and as associate director and faculty member with the Memorial Family Practice Residency Program.

Dr. Wang enjoys spending his free time with his wife and two teenage children. He also serves as a youth group leader in his church and an assistant scout master with the Boy Scouts. Dr. Wang also maintains an active lifestyle through running and biking.
