Dr. Tanima Jana earned her bachelor’s degree at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., her master’s degree in biology medical sciences at Mississippi College in Clinton, Miss., and her medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson. She was a postdoctoral research fellow at Georgia Health Sciences University in Augusta, Ga., then completed a residency in internal medicine followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth. She is an assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at McGovern Medical School, where she also serves as gastroenterology fellowship associate program director.

Dr. Jana has authored numerous book chapters and peer-reviewed journal articles and has presented on a wide variety of medical topics.
