Dr. Adeel Shaikh, MD

Dr. Adeel Shaikh earned his medical degree from Aga Khan University Medical School in Karachi, Pakistan, followed by a year of internal medicine training at the Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Cincinnati, where he served as chief resident, and received retina sub-specialty training at the Cincinnati Eye Institute at University Hospital of Cincinnati.

Dr. Shaikh, who is board certified in ophthalmology, has been in practice since 2003. He specializes in vitreoretinal surgery and treats all retinal diseases, including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, vascular diseases of the retina, vitreoretinal interface abnormalities (such as epiretinal membrane and macular hole), retinal detachment, ocular trauma and complications of anterior segment surgery.

A member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists, Dr. Shaikh is actively involved in clinical research. He has presented at national and international meetings on topics including treatment of age-related macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusion and vitreoretinal surgery.

Dr. Shaikh is married and the father of two children. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and playing soccer.
