Dr. Ann Marshburn earned her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and completed her internship and residency in pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine-Texas Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Marshburn is board certified in pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Following a year in private practice, she has specialized in pediatric hospital medicine for 9 years, with a primary clinical interest in pediatric oncology. She treats patients up to 18 years old.

As a pediatric hospitalist, Dr. Marshburn specializes in treating and caring for pediatric patients throughout their hospital stays. She is trained to provide evidence-based care for acutely and critically ill children, including pediatric cancer patients in the hospital setting. She is also responsible for outlining a comprehensive treatment plan during the hospital stay and coordinating care among physicians and other medical personnel.

Working hand-in-hand with internationally recognized pediatric subspecialists, Dr. Marshburn provides thorough, personalized care for every child. She is dedicated to a team approach and takes time to thoroughly explain diagnoses and treatments to patients and families. In turn, they value the time she spends connecting with them and including them in the decision-making process.

A recipient of the Dean's Teaching Award as an assistant professor at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, she also serves as assistant professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
