Usama's son went through the adult program at PaRC. He always wondered why his son couldn't get his act together, but it never dawned on him that he was abusing substances. When he was admitted to PaRC, Usama used to come and see him on Sundays and then he and his wife would go to the family education lectures at PaRC. He believes that without the family side of aftercare, his son and others would not have had the kind of chance to recovery that the PaRC offered them. "The education about addiction and the disease, and so forth and so on, was invaluable... He made amends with the whole family. He's always been a loving son, but once that cloud of addiction was removed, he shined. Our lives have improved immeasurably."
