Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center is proud to introduce Canopy – a first-of-its-kind cancer survivorship center in the greater Houston area. At Canopy, there are a wide variety of programs and services addressing the emotional, physical and social needs of those touched by cancer.
The goal of Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center is to integrate a cancer survivorship center into the continuum of cancer care. Our strong community connection and compassionate support system make it possible for Canopy to provide programs geared towards improving the health and quality of life of cancer survivors post-diagnosis.

A weekly gathering where guests can come seek support and encouragement from one another, meet new friends and visit with old ones.
Second Sunday of every month from 2-5 p.m.
A monthly class to teach children ages 10 to 17 how to prepare simple meals for a loved one who has cancer.
Every Thursday at 11 a.m.
This class meets twice weekly which is a gentle guide to the basic movement with breath to help build strength, create flexibility and balance through yoga postures. Allow yourself to ease back to your routine while your body is still healing. Open to all levels.
Every Monday at 10:30 a.m. and Tuesday 11 a.m.
This class includes Gentle Yoga practice, breathing and learning how to draw on your own inner resources to better care for yourself. For any level student seeking to reduce the effects of stress. Learn how to calm the mind, and be present in your breath.
Every Monday at 2 p.m.
All levels are invited to relax weekly in a comfortable living room setting. Bring your own supplies, or we provide it at Canopy.
This is a support group for all cancer survivors, no matter where they are in their journey, for processing the effects of cancer, encouragement, guidance, and any other circumstances they need to process. There is generally a topic for each session. It meets twice a month, once on every 3rd Tuesday evening and once every 3rd Thursday at lunch.
Second Monday of every month from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
This monthly American Cancer Society program teaches women & men undergoing cancer treatments how to cope with the common cosmetic concerns & improve self-esteem. You have to register with ACS or Carolyn at Canopy before the class. Registration required.
Time varies
A monthly exercise class that improves flexibility, builds strength and develops control in endurance in the entire body. it puts emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core and improving coordination and balance.
First Wednesday of every month at 12 p.m.
A monthly class with information on basic nutrition for cancer patients, before, during and after treatment.
Every other Thursday at 10 a.m. beginning Jan. 12.
Study different books of the bible in a group setting.

This weekly class is often described as “meditation in motion”, this gentle form of exercise can help maintain strength, flexibility and balance.
Therapists from TIRR will come and share about a variety of topics such as chemo brain, speech and cognitive therapy and balance/strengthening.
This is a class for beginners who are interested in learning about Spanish culture, and speaking Spanish!
This is an OB/GYN cancer support group for survivors and caregivers affected by these cancers. It meets the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 4:30 p.m.
The Nest is a safe haven for women who have been affected by breast cancer. We gather monthly at Canopy on the last Tuesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. Please RSVP to the Canopy front desk at 713-897-5939.
A group where both men and women with advanced stage cancer can come to share support and encouragement while learning to live fully in between the hard things. We meet on the last Mondays of the month from 5:30-7 p.m. at Canopy.
Eating Well Through Cancer: This is a cooking demonstration using a wonderful cookbook we recommend, by Holle Clegg. This meets the second Tuesday of the month at 12:30 p.m. Please RSVP to the front desk of Canopy at 713-897-5939.
This cooking demonstration meets the last Wednesday of the month at 12:00 p.m. Led by Paola Gianotti, this is a lighter fare, traditional Tuscan fare menu offering.
This is an oncology support group that meets specifically for our Spanish-speaking guests of Canopy. It meets the first Monday of the month at 11:30 a.m.
This class meets on the last Monday of the month at 11:00 a.m. Focusing on a different topic every month, tips are given on how to make your dollar stretch more at the grocery store.
