The knowledgeable instructors in our childbirth education classes provide insight, tools and techniques to help you and your family prepare for your baby's birth. Recognizing that the childbirth experience is as individual as the baby it produces, they present a whole range of information and instruction to make this experience a positive one.
After childbirth, we'll help you make the transition to your new role. We support infant rooming-in. Our experienced nurses will help you learn to care for your baby with confidence. We offer infant care education, including diapering, bathing, breast-feeding and bottle-feeding. Breastfeeding consultants/counselors are available for women experiencing any difficulties. You and your family may participate in any or all of the classes listed below.

Following your baby's birth, you will need personal hygiene and comfort items such as toothbrush and comb. After authorization by your obstetrician and pediatrician, you and your baby will be discharged from the hospital. Bring clothing, blankets and a car safety seat to take your newborn home. State law requires all children under age 4 to be in a federally approved safety restraint device while traveling in a vehicle.
Guidelines for Infant Security
The guidelines below provide good, sound parenting techniques that can also help prevent abduction of infants while in the hospital where your child is born and once you take the child home.
