Dr. Robert Salazar, MD

Dr. Robert Salazar earned his undergraduate degree in biology at The University of Texas-Pan American and his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He then completed his internship and residency at Harvard University, followed by fellowships in interventional and structural cardiology at the Texas Heart Institute in Houston.

Dr. Salazar, who is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, is board certified in five areas: internal medicine, cardiology, echocardiology, nuclear cardiology and interventional cardiology. His expertise includes advanced coronary intervention, peripheral vascular disease and structural heart disease, and he is trained to perform TAVR (transcatheter aortic valve replacement), EVAR (endovascular aneurysm repair) for abdominal aortic aneurysm, carotid stent placement, ASD (atrial septal defect) and PFO (patent foraman ovale) closure. He speaks Spanish.

His practice philosophy centers on providing outstanding care through comprehensive, state-of-the-art screening services and education for long-term health. Dr. Salazar is committed to improving his patients’ quality of life through education, prevention and management of cardiovascular disease.

Outside of the office, Dr. Salazar spends time staying up to date with the latest technology. He also enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and children.
