HOUSTON (February 06, 2024)

Memorial Hermann Health System and Houston Business Journal will co-host a panel of experts and thought leaders in a discussion on the state of the health care industry, perceptions around value and health equity and the role they play in promoting a viable, productive workforce community in Houston.

In 2023, Memorial Hermann Health System partnered with HBJ and University of Houston on a survey of local business leaders on the state of the health care industry, their understanding of value in health, and their perceptions about health equity. That survey found while great strides have been made toward creating greater value for patients and populations by achieving high-quality outcomes at a lower cost, additional opportunities exist for leaders across Greater Houston to consider value and equity as key drivers of the health and well-being of all Houstonians. The panel of experts will discuss the survey’s findings and what they mean for strengthening the health and wellness of Houston’s workforce.

Moderated by the HBJ market president and publisher, Bob Charlet, the panel will feature Dr. David Callender, president and CEO of Memorial Hermann Health System, Dan Bellow, president, JLL, and Dr. Stephen J. Spann, Founding Dean, Tillman J. Ferttita Family College of Medicine at the University of Houston.
