PEARLAND, TEXAS (March 04, 2015)

On Feb. 25-26 Memorial Hermann celebrated “Pearland Day in Austin 2015,” an advocacy event organized by the Pearland Chamber of Commerce every two years during each state legislative session. The event allows hundreds of City of Pearland and Brazoria County business, civic and community leaders to travel to Austin and meet with the region's state legislators to highlight and discuss the public policy and legislative issues important to the Pearland community.

Memorial Hermann sponsored the “Pearland Day in Austin 2015” luncheon, where State Comptroller Glenn Hegar was the keynote speaker. In addition, five business leaders, including Donna Coneley, Director of Business Development at Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital, and Ashlea Quinonez, Director of Government Relations at Memorial Hermann Health System, were chosen to represent Pearland on the floor of the Texas House of Representatives and were recognized by Pearland area state house members. Coneley and Quinonez, along with Memorial Hermann Southeast Director of Physician Resources Rebecca Lilley and Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital Manager of Business Development Gerrit Von Wenckstern, met with various Pearland and Houston area state legislators and attended the Texas Department of Transportation Commission meeting.

As a Platinum Member of the Pearland Chamber of Commerce, Memorial Hermann Southeast sponsors various Chamber events throughout the year, and Memorial Hermann Southeast leaders regularly attend Chamber functions and commit time to serve on various Chamber committees.
