CYPRESS, TEXAS (November 28, 2017)

Memorial Hermann Cypress Hospital is enhancing the surgical experience through the use of a new robot. The da Vinci Xi surgical system can be used in a variety of fields, including colon and rectal surgery, gynecological surgery, urologic surgery, bariatric surgery, as well as general surgery.

“Robotic procedures have been shown to shorten a patient’s hospital stay, and lead to less pain and a faster recovery,” says Brad Snyder, Sr., M.D., a general surgeon affiliated with Memorial Hermann Cypress and McGovern Medical School at UTHealth. “Additionally, this new robot gives surgeons better access to certain areas of the body that would not have been ideal for robotic surgery previously.”

This is just one of several services expanded by Memorial Hermann Cypress since it’s opening earlier this year.

“As promised when we opened, Memorial Hermann Cypress will continue to grow to meet the needs of the community. Adding robotic surgery is just another way we’re providing expert medical care in a more convenient location for this area,” says Heath Rushing, Sr. Vice President and CEO of Memorial Hermann Cypress.

Memorial Hermann Cypress affiliated, board-certified physicians utilize the latest techniques and technologies to perform a wide range of inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures.
