KATY, TEXAS (August 01, 2014)

Scott Barbe, longtime Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital, has taken a new assignment with the health system. Starting today, Barbe will serve as CEO overseeing the health system’s expansion into the Cypress Market.

“Scott has built a 30-year career in healthcare,” said Chuck Stokes, Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Memorial Hermann Health System. “He is one of the most well respected leaders at Memorial Hermann with an outstanding track record of success. For these reasons and more, we are quite confident Scott and his team will efficiently and effectively get Memorial Hermann up and running in Cypress.”

Memorial Hermann recently announced the purchase of a 32-acre parcel of land at US Highway 290 and the Grand Parkway in Cypress. Under Barbe’s leadership, the health system will develop a medical center with substantial inpatient and outpatient capabilities to better serve the needs of the growing Cypress market.

As a result of Barbe’s transition, Jim Parisi, COO and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) of Memorial Hermann Katy, has been named the new CEO. Parisi, also a longtime employee of Memorial Hermann, has been a member of the Memorial Hermann Katy executive leadership team for four years. Previously, he served Memorial Hermann as System Executive of Emergency Services and as Chief Business Development Officer for the Southwest market.

Additionally, John Kueven, director of hospital operations, has been appointed COO of the Katy hospital. Kueven previously worked for Boston Children’s Hospital as a Service Line Executive managing the organ transplant program, as well as North Mississippi Medical Center, where he served as Clinical Resource Manager and Project Director for a state-of-the-art off-site central sterile processing facility.

“Jim and John – both residents of Katy – are committed to this community and to ensuring our patients continue to receive high quality and safe care,” added Stokes. “Jim has already distinguished himself as an outstanding leader and we know that John will display similarly great qualities.”
