Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital has selected two new leaders for its executive team. Justin Kendrick has assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer and Catherine Giegerich, MS, BSN, RN has been named Chief Nursing Officer.

“Justin and Catherine are great additions to our team,” said Josh Urban, CEO of the hospital. “They both bring a wealth of experience in hospital operations and a strong desire to provide patients with high-quality and safe care. Additionally, they are committed to growing the hospital’s specialty services to continue to bring a Texas Medical Center quality of care to our neighbors.”

As COO, Kendrick is responsible for overall hospital operations. His responsibilities include financial performance, compliance with regulatory agencies, patient satisfaction and employee engagement, as well as working closely with medical staff and hospital personnel to ensure the hospital continues to provide safe and high-quality care to the community.

Most recently, Kendrick served as the Chief Operating Officer for Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. Under his guidance, Texoma Medical Center was awarded the Joint Commission Top Performer on Key Quality Measures distinction, recognizing the hospital for achievement in the care of patients with heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, and more.

Prior to his work at Texoma Medical Center, Kendrick was an Associate Administrator for Palmdale Regional Medical Center in Palmdale, Calif. Early in his career, he also served in various roles with Memorial Hermann, with the most recent being Director of Hospital Operations at Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital.

Kendrick received a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southern Nazarene University and a Master’s in healthcare administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Texas Hospital Association Leadership Development Committee.

As CNO, Giegerich will oversee all nursing functions and patient care practices within Memorial Hermann The Woodlands. She also will work hand-in-hand with Kendrick to manage financial performance, and is accountable for regulatory standards compliance, patient satisfaction, patient safety, quality of patient care, and employee engagement.

Previously, Giegerich served as the Associate Chief Nursing Officer at Kingwood Medical Center where she had administrative oversight of all staff reporting through the Division of Nursing. In addition, she served as the Director of Education and successfully implemented a hospital wide education plan. Prior to her work at Kingwood Medical Center, Giegerich worked for Houston Methodist Hospital in various roles, including Vice President of Operations and Administrator of the hospital’s Neurological Institute.

Giegerich has a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Prairie View A&M University and a Master’s degree in Health Systems Management from Texas Women's University. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Healthcare Financial Management Association and the Oncology Nursing Society. Additionally, she sits on the Board of San Jose Clinic.
