THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (November 12, 2013)

Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center and TIRR Memorial Hermann yesterday opened a comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation program in The Woodlands.

Located on the 2nd floor of the professional building at 920 Medical Plaza Drive, Suite 270, TIRR Memorial Hermann-The Woodlands is treating patients Monday through Saturday.

The Outpatient Program includes both the Outpatient Therapy Program as well as TIRR Memorial Hermann’s Challenge Program. The Outpatient Therapy program provides a comprehensive range of therapeutic services to adults and children, all customized and tailored to meet individual patient needs and goals. This program includes services in three concentrated areas of therapy: physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.

Rehabilitation services include treatment for the following:

  • Vestibular Rehabilitation
  • Stroke
  • Traumatic brain injury (TBI)
  • Spinal cord injury (SCI)
  • Parkinson’s
  • Amputation
  • Cancer rehabilitation
  • Multiple trauma
  • Other neurological or neurodegenerative disorders

The Challenge Program is a comprehensive community re-integration program for brain injury survivors aged 14 and older. The program is designed around four specific tracks and assists individuals in returning to community activities such as work, school or volunteering, or to a higher level of independence. Challenge services include physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, cognitive rehabilitation, neuropsychological treatment and vocational rehabilitation.

Early next year, TIRR Memorial Hermann is scheduled to open an Inpatient Program in The Woodlands on the 7th floor of Memorial Hermann The Woodlands.
