Dr. Wafi Momin earned his undergraduate degree in finance from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin and his medical degree at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth. He completed his residency in internal medicine at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) and a fellowship in cardiology at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, Texas.
An assistant professor of medicine in the Center for Advanced Cardiopulmonary Therapies and Transplantation at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth, Dr. Momin has been in practice since 2011. He is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease, with additional experience in echocardiography. His clinical interests include cardiovascular disease prevention, general adult cardiovascular medicine, stress testing, transthoracic echocardiography, diagnostic cardiac catheterizations and transesophageal echocardiogram.
Dr. Momin finds joy in building relationships with his patients and takes pride in ensuring that they receive exceptional care grounded in current evidence-based medicine.
A Houston native and first-generation Texan, Dr. Momin is married and the father of one daughter. In his spare time, he is an avid sports fan and has followed all of Houston’s major sports teams for many years. He is a foodie, enjoys traveling and loves spending time with his extended family in Houston.
