Board certified family medicine specialist Dr. Marlyn Generillo treats patients age 5 and up. She earned her undergraduate degree in biology at the University of the Philippines and her medical degree at De La Salle University, where her rotation in family medicine opened the door to her specialty. She completed her residency at Henry Ford Hospital Department of Family Medicine in Detroit, where she was chief resident in her final year.
Dr. Generillo has been in practice since 2003. Her primary clinical interests are women’s health and management of chronic conditions, including diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol.
Her approach to care is based on patient education and involvement, which she believes are key to the best medical outcomes. She sees herself as a health advisor and enjoys following patients through the years and getting to know them, their interests and their families. Those long-term relationships allow her to be a bigger part of her patients’ lives, an aspect of primary care that gives her great satisfaction.
Dr. Generillo, a resident of Friendswood, is married and the mother of two daughters. Away from her practice, she enjoys photography, movies, cooking and baking.
