Dr. Mirza Baig, MD

Interventional cardiologist, Dr. Mirza Baig, is board certified in five areas: cardiology, nuclear cardiology, interventional cardiology, internal medicine and pediatrics.

After earning his medical degree at Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan, Dr. Baig completed a residency in internal medicine and pediatrics and a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology and the Harris County Medical Society.

Dr. Baig specializes in general cardiology, adult congenital heart disease and interventional cardiology. He treats patients for chest pain, shortness of breath, fatigue, palpitations (an indicator of coronary artery disease), blockages of arteries near the heart muscle, arrhythmias and congestive heart failure. His practice has the in-office capability to perform any diagnostic testing, including stress testing; monitoring of arrythmias; and ultrasound of the heart, carotid arteries and lower extremities to diagnose arterial-venous problems.

With a practice philosophy built on putting patients first, Dr. Baig’s primary goal is making their lives better and more comfortable. He believes that talking to patients and gathering a complete medical history are the first important steps in diagnosis, followed by appropriate testing. Patients appreciate his thoroughness and positive attitude, as well as his ability to answer questions and provide clear instructions.
