Dr. Wesley Jones, MD

Wesley H. Jones, MD, is a board-certified, dual fellowship-trained neurosurgeon with expertise in both cranial and spine surgery. A native of the Greater Houston area, Dr. Jones received his Doctorate of Medicine at Texas Tech University School of Medicine in Lubbock, where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Jones completed neurosurgical residency training at the Vivian L. Smith Department of Neurosurgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.

Fellowship trained in two sub-specialties, Dr. Jones completed a cerebrovascular and endovascular fellowship at McGovern Medical School, and subsequently, a complex spine fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis in the Departments of Neurosurgery and Orthopedics.

Dr. Jones' diverse and extensive training allows him to treat patients with an array of innovative and traditional procedures best suited to their individual diagnoses and needs. He has significant experience in robotic-assisted spine surgery, and one of the first in the Houston area to provide this leading-edge option for his patients undergoing spinal or cranial surgery.

His clinical expertise in spine, peripheral nerve surgery and cerebrovascular disease propel his research interests. He served as the principal investigator on a multicenter trial examining peripheral nerve transfers to improve hand function in patients with cervical spinal cord injury. He has authored several peer-reviewed publications, multiple book chapters and presented his research nationally. He is active in numerous neurosurgical and medical professional associations.

When not treating patients, Dr. Jones loves spending time with his beautiful family and dog. He enjoys hunting, fishing, golf, sporting events and exercise.

Dr. Jones welcomes new patients and referrals. When appropriate, he does offer telehealth visits.
