HUMBLE, TEXAS (May 26, 2011)

Dottie President of VolunteersDottie Braren of Kingwood has been installed for a second term as president of the Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital Volunteers. She will serve through May 2012.

Since 2003, Braren has volunteered almost 3,000 hours at Northeast. A native Texan, Barren's ancestors settled in the Humble area. For more than 26 years, she has called the Humble-Kingwood area home. After retiring from the retail industry, Donnie became active with the Hospital volunteer group - holding several volunteers offices in recent years. Dottie and her husband, Oluf, have four adult children and six grandchildren.

In addition to Braren, the Memorial Hermann Northeast Volunteers officers include:

  • Art Voltmann, 1st vice president - Membership
  • Donnie Redman, 2nd vice president - Student Volunteers
  • Pat Pittenger, 3rd vice president - Gift Shop
  • Jim Williamson, treasurer
  • Paula McCreary, secretary
  • Mira Silva, historian
  • Mary Slaughter, parliamentarian

The Northeast volunteers donate more than 50,000 hours each year, and more than $10,000 to Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital and the Northeast Hospital Foundation. They provide scholarships to students from area high schools. They also contribute time and money to many community projects such as Northeast's Seniors Program, Humble Area Assistance Ministries, Mission Northeast, the Cancer Center, Humble Good Oil Days, and Kingwood Heartbeat Bears.
