David Smith, PT, ATC/LAT

D. Paul Smith received his degree in physical therapy from The University of Texas Health Science Center-San Antonio and is a board-certified clinical specialist in orthopedic physical therapy. His areas of interest and specialization include the shoulder, knee, and the foot and ankle. Paul is a member of our pediatric orthopedic team and telehealth team. He is involved as part of the outreach athletic training team helping cover events such as IRONMAN Texas and other local events as part of the medical team.

Paul has advanced certification/training in Graston treatment, concussion management, and as a Robust Process Improvement Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, is a Texas Consortium certified clinical instructor and serves as a Regional Clinical Coordinator of Clinical Education. Paul’s Memorial Hermann collaborations include Sam Houston State University, where he works closely with pre-physical therapy and athletic training students. He enjoys loving Jesus, spending time with his wife and four kids, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (because three of those kids are girls) and good food.
