Born in Quezon City, Philippines, Dr. Edward Baptista grew up in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He earned his undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Dallas, followed by a medical degree from McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). He completed his residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at McGovern Medical School, where he served as chief cardiology fellow.
Dr. Baptista, who has been in practice since 1996, is board certified in cardiovascular disease and a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. His primary clinical interests are general cardiology, preventive care, lipid management, heart failure management and echocardiography. Dr. Baptista’s patients rate him highly, citing his friendliness and caring attitude, thoroughness and ability to answer questions.
A clinical assistant professor at McGovern Medical School, Dr. Baptista has authored and co-authored research abstracts and journal articles and has participated as co-investigator for several clinical trials.
