Dr. Matthew E. Davis earned his medical degree in 2003 at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Davis completed an internship in internal medicine at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas and a residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in Denver Colo. He went on to complete a fellowship in spinal cord injury at the University of Washington in Seattle, followed by three years of practicing spinal cord injury medicine and serving as an assistant professor at UT Health San Antonio Long School of Medicine.

Board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, Dr. Davis has a sub-specialty certification in spinal cord injury medicine. He cares for patients ages 18 and up who are recovering from spinal cord injuries. He is associate director of the SCI Fellowship program at TIRR Memorial Hermann and serves as clinical medical director of the Spinal Cord Injury program.

An associate professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, Dr. Davis is a member of the American Spinal Injury Association, the Academy of Spinal Cord Injury Professionals and the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. He has received several teaching awards and the TIRR Physician of the Year award.
