Dr. Leo Lapuerta Jr, MD

San Antonio native Dr. Leo Lapuerta earned his undergraduate degree at Stanford University and his medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He completed a residency in general surgery at St. John Medical Center in Detroit and a fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery at St. Joseph Medical Center in Houston.

Dr. LaPuerta is board certified in three areas: general surgery, plastic surgery and surgery of the hand. His practice includes the full spectrum of aesthetic plastic surgery (with special expertise in procedures for the face and body) as well as reconstructive surgery. He speaks Spanish.

Patients are immediately put at ease by Dr. Lapuerta’s kind, caring and approachable manner. They appreciate his positive and reassuring direction as he guides them through developing a surgical or non-surgical plan to achieve their goals.

Married to a physician, Dr. Lapuerta is the father of one daughter. He likes spending free time with his family, staying fit by swimming and weight training and enjoying good Houston-area restaurants and sporting events. His hobbies include golf, hunting, travel and learning about wine.
