Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center was west Houston’s first hospital to obtain Magnet® recognition in 2009 - an international distinction for nursing excellence and quality care by American Nurses Credentialing Center. 50 Years of Caring for the Community

Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center, a trusted health care provider of residents in Greater and West Houston, turned 50 in 2021.

Built in 1971 by Joe Johnson, the pioneer developer of the Memorial City area, Memorial City General Hospital opened with less than 100 beds and one medical office building. Today, the Memorial Hermann Memorial City campus has 3 hospital buildings, 4 medical office buildings, 5 garages and a retail clinic space.  The campus boasts 1,500 affiliated physicians representing 100 medical specialties, 1,800 employees, 444 licensed beds and nationally recognized, award-winning care.

Memorial Hermann Memorial City is part of Memorial Hermann Health care System, with more than a 110-year history of caring for the greater Houston area. Memorial Hermann is a 14-hospital system, which includes Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center and Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital; both are Level 1 Trauma Centers in Houston’s Texas Medical Center

Community Health Needs Assessment

As a part of providing Community Benefit to enhance the health and well-being of the residents of the Greater Houston area, Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center is required by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to identify the community’s health needs and strengths by conducting a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) to prioritize health issues, to provide a foundation for the development of a community health improvement plan, and to assist community organizations in their program planning. Parking Information

Memorial Hermann Memorial City has three main hospital entrances (East Tower, West Pavilion and Memorial Hermann Tower) and multiple medical plazas.

All un-gated parking in the parking garages or surface lot parking is free of charge. Handicap parking is available in all parking areas.

Valet parking is available at the East Tower entrance (off Gessner Rd.) Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Valet parking is $10.

For outpatient testing and outpatient surgery, parking is available on the west side of the campus along Frostwood Dr. in the gated surface lot directly across from the West Pavilion entrance. A token will be provided for patients to exit the lot at no charge. All others pay $20.

Emergency Center parking is available on the first floor of Garage 3 accessible from Gessner Rd. between I-10 and Kingsride Ln. A token will be provided for Emergency Center patients to exit the lot at no charge. All others pay $20.
