The following activities are part of the surgical preparation for transplantation:

Pain management is immediately given through an IV then changed to a pill form once the patient is off the ventilator. Everyone's pain is different.

Everyone who enters and leaves your room should be washing their hands.

The Intermediate Care Unit is exactly like the Intensive Care Unit since it is on the same floor.

Discharge education happens within 48 hours of possible discharge from the hospital, must include your primary caregivers and includes meeting with many members of the team.
