Advanced Certification for Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement

Advanced Total Hip and Knee Replacement Certification

Rockets Orthopedic Hospital has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Advanced Certification for Total Hip and Knee Replacement with zero deficiencies. It is the first hospital in Houston to earn this advanced certification, which is given to Joint Commission-accredited hospitals, critical access hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers seeking to elevate the quality, consistency and safety of their services and patient care.

The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Advanced Certification for Total Hip and Knee Replacement was established in 2016 and is awarded for a two-year period. The advanced certification was developed in response to the growing number of patients undergoing total hip or total knee replacement surgery, as well as the increased focus on clinical evidence-based patient care as it relates to pain management, quality of life issues, functional limitation in mobility and the return to normal daily activities.

Initial Certification for Spine Surgery

Rockets Orthopedic Hospital has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Initial Certification for Spine Surgery. It is the first hospital in Houston to earn this initial certification, which is awarded to Joint Commission-accredited hospitals, critical access hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers seeking to elevate the quality, consistency and safety of their services, and patient care.

The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Initial Certification for Spine Surgery is awarded for a 2-year period. Earning this certification is a step forward in pursuing a Center of Excellence for our continuum of care, quality, safety and performance.
